Terms of service

Last updated July 2026.

We’re a small, self-run product and this page is written in plain language rather than boilerplate. It is not a substitute for legal advice — the owner has flagged this page for real legal review, not just AI drafting.

The short version

You put data about your own belongings into StuffOwl and it stays yours. Use the service reasonably, don’t abuse it, and we’ll keep it running and keep your export button working no matter what.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of what you enter. You must be old enough in your jurisdiction to agree to these terms.

Your content

Everything you add — names, notes, tags, photos, receipts, documents — is yours. We store it to provide the service back to you and don’t claim any ownership over it. You're responsible for having the right to upload whatever you upload, and for not uploading anything illegal or that infringes someone else's rights.

Pricing and billing

Every feature of StuffOwl is free. The only thing that can cost money is storage beyond the free pool, sold as prepaid storage-time credits — never a recurring subscription, never charged per item. See /pricing for the current details. If a storage credit lapses or your usage exceeds the free pool, your account becomes read-only: we never delete your data for non-payment, and exporting it stays free forever.

Service availability

We aim to keep StuffOwl reliably available but, like any small operator, can't promise zero downtime. We'll try to give notice of any planned maintenance that affects access.

Ending your account

You can stop using StuffOwl at any time. Export your data first if you want a copy — it's free, and it works even on a read-only account. Email us to request full account and data deletion.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We won't retroactively narrow the promises made here (free export forever, no data deletion for non-payment) without a clear, separate notice.
